...to make these cookies from Dreena Burton. If I'm not, I'm finally posting a cookie photo that has a recipe so you can make them, too. The recipe is posted at Everyday Dish, and there are lots of other great things there, too, so check them out.We liked these cookies. They were super quick and easy to make. Within a half hour, they were mixed and baked and burning my mouth in that wonderful chocolatey way. The taste is great ( I think that maple syrup and molasses are key in chocolate chip cookies) but the texture was a little soft for me. No crunch at all. Part of that could be because of our incredibly sticky weather right now.
If you haven't tried them, now is the time. You have to bake something while you're waiting for Kelly and Garrick's cookie book to come out!

I made them once with 1/4 CUP molasses instead of the 1/4 teaspoon.
yeah.
expect something in the mail soon! it's from me but not sent from my address, so don't be surprised. shhhh!
Ooooh, Celine, that would be a little loud with all that molasses! I'd eat them any way and probably enjoy them.
A surprise! You shouldn't have! But thank you. You're so sweet. Can't wait! :)
Hey Tami...In our gross Norther Ohio summer weather I usually knock off about 1-2 TB of the oil in these and they aren't as soft. (However, if they aren't eaten in a day or two they will get a little tough but, let's face it, they never last more than a day!)

I love these cookies, but I agree that they are kind of soft. But I prefer soft chocolate chip cookies, so that's probably why I love them so much!
Aimee, thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind. I figured it had to do with my flour in this humidity.
Katy, I think most people do prefer softer cookies! I'm in the greedy minority who would like a crispy outside and soft insides. I still think this is a great recipe though. The cookies sure disappeared quickly!
Don't worry--I have yet to make those puppies yet! :)

Erin, that means you just might be the last one!
