Being a vegetarian in the Midwest for over thirty years, and vegan for many of those years, cooking has become a way of life for me. This blog and my cookbook, American Vegan Kitchen (Feb. 2010, Vegan Heritage Press), contain some of my kitchen creations. I'm currently at work on my second book, Vegan Sandwiches Save the Day, and my third book, Grills Gone Vegan! See the Books page for details.
My approach to cooking is to combine wonderful fresh ingredients, proteins, and aromatic herbs and spices to create bold-flavored dishes. Food is nurturing and a vegan diet is the most compassionate choice for both the planet and all who live on it. Delicious food is one of the most persuasive aspects of a vegan diet, and I enjoy sharing that with others, like you.
Besides this blog and my cookbooks, I also enjoy spreading the vegan word as a contributor to several other sites. Follow my writing about vegan wines at One Green Planet. For recipes, be sure to see my articles at Go Dairy Free and Veg Kitchen.
