A few months ago, I was sent a coupon for a free Tofurky pizza. Since then, I’ve been on the hunt for them everywhere. No luck at the co-op, no luck at Whole Foods, but yesterday my luck changed. I found it on the bottom shelf of the freezer case at Mustard Seed Market in Solon! Of course, I didn’t have my coupon with me (that’s how low my hopes were), but we picked up one of each of the two kinds they had. At this time, they don’t have the pepperoni so we got a plain and a sausage.
When we got home last night we were anxious to try one, even though we’d eaten only a few hours before. The fire-roasted vegetable with sausage sounded like just the thing. In 10 minutes, we were munching on a fantastic pizza! The sausage looked as if it had been grilled and the vegetables were all chopped small so you get a good balance in every bite. With both mozzarella and cheddar-style daiya, the cheese melts well and the crust crisps to perfection.
The downside? I just wish they were bigger. Not because they aren’t worth the money, but because they are that good. I’m glad I still have that coupon, because the verdict is that our freezer should have a half dozen of these at all times. I get a little possessive of freezer space, so that’s a big endorsement. The pizzas are scheduled to be available at all Whole Foods in September, but if you can’t wait, we’ll race you to Mustard Seed. Thanks to Tofurky for making it even easier for people interested in a vegan diet.

I’m glad you found the Tofurky pizza! I’ve been to that Mustard Seed market a few times (when visiting my partner’s family). Hmmm… Now I want pizza for dinner!
That looks so good! I have to find this in NY!

looks like I need to make a trip over to the Mustard Seed! Yum!
Tahinitoo, I didn’t know you ever came this way. If you do again, let me know!
You guys, it’s even better than it looks. So exciting!
Gasp! This is exciting! If you dont mind we asking where about its NE Ohio do you live? I live Boardman myself, near the Flaming IceCube, I dont know if you have ever been there its awesome!
Michal, I’m in Ashtabula. We’ve never made it to the Flaming Ice Cube, but really want to! I think the new Cleveland location might be a little closer for us, but it’s kind of a toss-up. I’d be happy going in either direction. The menu looks wonderful!
Oh, that’s random, my mom lived in Ashtabula when she was born…that’s how I’ve heard of that town…I cannot wait to find these at my WF…I am so glad to hear they are as good as I thought they would be.
Yum, I love pizza, and that looks delicious. We don’t have a Mustard Seed where I live though.
Michelle, they’re supposed to be in Whole Foods in September if you have one of those!
Oh man…I would eat that entire thing in one sitting! Looks like the type of pizza I would make at home.
That pizza looks great! I also have a coupon for it but have yet to find it, boo hoo!
