Pattycake Bakery, Columbus, Ohio

As you can see, we were in Columbus on a day with a clear blue sky, which include our very first trip to Pattycake Bakery!

It’s an adorable little storefront that is just packed with vegan goodness.

This photo only captures some of the wonderful goodies, but it gives you an idea.

The Marry Me Blueberry Muffin is truly the best vegan muffin I think I’ve ever had. Impossibly perfect light texture, lots of cinnamon and blueberries….

And the Cranberry Orange Muffin that was almost as good in a completely different way. Almost.

Here are the cookies we brought home: XO Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and a Snickerdoodle which I can’t rave about enough. It was so irresistible that Jim broke into it even before I got a chance to photograph it.

I hate to think about how many times we’ve been in Columbus and not visited Pattycake! We’ll be sure to not make the mistake of passing it up again. By the way, if you’re interested, they ship. My personal goal is to visit on a Saturday when they have Sticky Buns!

With Columbus growing in vegan options all the time, reviews are still to come for Z Pizza and Dragonfly, as well as Akron’s best restaurant, the Vegiterranean. Those may just wait for VeganMoFo, coming in November.

Other stuff:

Food Network Friday is veganizing this recipe for an October 4th wrap up. Join us!

If you’re in the Cincinnati area, I’ll be at the Books by the Banks on October 2nd. If you happen to have suggestions about where to eat, please email me.

Another book contest coming soon. This time, it’s a cookbook!
