I’ve had the good fortune to be a tester for several awesome authors, such as Isa Chandra Moskowitz. My all-time favorite bagel recipe comes from her book, Vegan Brunch. If you were to check the date on that photo, you’d see it’s actually from July, 2008. I knew the recipe by heart way before the book came out. To this day, I still make a batch of these every week or so. While there is nothing like a bagel fresh out of the oven, these make incredible breakfasts, mid-day snacks, or late at night eats. My favorite way is toasted and slathered with earth balance, but there is nothing you could put on it that would diminish these amazing bagels.
Thanks, Isa, for a favorite recipe.

Those look perfect! Nice job.
Bagels are on my MoFo list! Yours look beautiful.
Wow, I really need someone to gift me with Vegan Brunch book so I can make those bagels to have around.
Yes it is. I haven’t made that recipe yet and I am in serious bagel withdrawal. I fear I would east all in one go and then explode in one bagel-y, carb-y pop.
Nothing compares to a fresh homemade bagel!! I love Vegan Brunch too, such a great book!
You are so good. I haven’t made those since testing and I loved them. Putting on my very long to-do list.
yummy bagels! I haven’t had a fresh bagel in so long.
Agreed, Tami! Isa’s bagels are amazing. I need to make them again. The pumpkin ones (I think) in 500 Vegan Recipes are also stellar!
let’s open a vegan bakery. now. i’ll just abandon my house, pack up the kids, dog, cat, spouse, and show up at your doorstep.
I concur!
I make those bagels all the time, they’re seriously awesome!
