November Means VeganMoFo!

It’s here! VeganMoFo starts now! I’m celebrating my 4th year as a mofo’er, but it might be hard to tell because my blog used to be called the Kitchen Debate. I was curious about the 2007 participants, and if you are too, check here! Thanks, Isa, for such an awesome idea to let others know about veganism.

So what can you expect this go-around to include? There’s bound to be another apple recipe, but in the meantime try that Upside Down Apple Gingerbread Cake from last year.

Monday through Thursday could be anything. I’m planning some posts loosely linked around ‘favorite things.’ These can be recipes, restaurants, cookbooks, recipes within cookbooks, kitcheny ingredients or tools, you name it.

Friday is book review and contest day! Happily, I do book contests year-round, but during MoFo they’ll be coming on strong. Contests are open to all. Be sure to check back for a chance to win The Vegan Cookie Connoisseur, Party Vegan, 500 Vegan Recipes, Asian Fusion or the Vegan Gir’s Guide to Life. There might even be a surprise non-Friday contest for American Vegan Kitchen! If you win one contest, please don’t enter again during the month of November. Let’s spread that vegan cookbook wealth around!

MoFo seems like the perfect time to announce that I am honored and incredibly excited to be participating in Vida Vegan Con! I’m looking forward to meeting some of my idols and actually being able to experience the 3D impact of some of the amazing friends I’ve made online. Make plans to be in Portland next August so you don’t miss out.

Food Network Friday is going to be on hold until December, just in case some of my cohorts are doing themes for MoFo.

One last thing, expect yet another attempt at me veganizing Bordeaux cookies. After tackling them during MoFo 2007 and 2008, this just might be my year!

Happy VeganMoFo!

I’m in Canada, I would imagine the giveaways are only for Americans? That cake looks amazing, I can’t wait for more recipes like that!

Ignore my last comment, I see on the PPK forum that it’s open to non-US residents, yay!

Ooo, lately I’ve been wanting to make some fall-oriented baked goods that don’t ivolve pumpkins or pies, and that gingerbread looks like exactly what I was craving!

I don’t know when or how I will keep up with all the MOFO-ing, but you know I will be checking in often. I’m going to dig through AVK for some recipes with chiles!
