Mini Sticky Buns

And I’ve got the food to prove it! I use Penzey’s Vietnamese cinnamon and absolutely love it. It brings more than the obvious flavor to baked goods because it’s got the best undertones. You know how I love a smoky taste? Well, if it had a sweet counterpart, cinnamon would be it. It costs a bit more but you can use a bit less, too. Or not.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Usually when I make cinnamon swirl bread, I get that unsightly gap that magically appears after it bakes. I’m working on overcoming that and think I may have figured out a trick. I’ll keep you posted after I try it a few more times.


I’m working on veganizing my mom’s recipe for these and chances are that if I put all the ingredients in that I’d written down, they would have been a tiny bit better. For the sake of science, I’ll have to try these again, too. Ahhh……the pressure. The very best vegan snickerdoodles I’ve had were from Pattycake in Columbus and I’m convinced I can make these just as incredible.

    i’m a nutmeg and pumpkin mood, although i’m late for pumpkin. i’ve been eyeing some recipes in the cookie connoisseur book i won from your blog. i’m trying to figure out which i’m most in the mood for. :)

    Those sticky buns! Oh my.
    I am big on the cinnamon nutmeg cloves combo this time of year. Throw in some pumpkin and I’ll eat it.

    Cinnamon goodies heaven! There is something magical and wonderful about this “ordinary” common spice. It makes baked goods smell and taste so much better.

    I absolutely love cinnamon and have been eating snickerdoodles for the past two months without fail…lol! The sticky buns you made are absolutely delish looking and I wish I had one to eat while enjoying my coffee right now!
