With my first contribution posted at One Green Planet, it seems an appropriate time to break out this cheeze platter. After all, the article is about vegan wine!
Liz and I did syncopated cheese and wine nights. For ours, we had the fabulous fondue from Vegan Subs. This tasted so authentic that it would fool omnis. We also had that cashew cheese from Vegetarian Times, which remains a favorite. After all, it’s rolled in black pepper! Two of our cheeses were Dr. Cow and were mail order. While delicious, both of the homemade cheeses were better. Olives and Cajun Mushrooms (for my upcoming book, Grills Gone Vegan!) gave us a savory edge and we nibbled the fruit for a little sweetness.
Check out my article and all the cool stuff going on over at One Green Planet. For a vegan wine listing, be sure to follow Barnivore.
If you haven’t made the Incrediburgers from American Vegan Kitchen, the upcoming holiday weekend is another chance! Get the recipe here.
Don’t forget the book contest! I’ll post a winner later this week.

I love a good cheese & wine night & that plate looks perfect.
What a fun idea! I am totally going to plan a wine and “cheese” girls night. There are too many good vegan cheese and wine options out there not to!
Your “cheese” platter looks super! There’s noting better than nibbling on delicious morsels and sipping wine.
That is a great idea! And I’m making incrediburgers for Memorial Day cookout! Yummy!!
Which of the Dr. Cow cheeses did you try? I got the sampler box a year or two ago and I found my reaction to them varied wildly! I loved one, liked some, and was meh about others.
Thanks a lot, you guys!
Hope you like the burgers, Becky. We’re having them, too!
Celyn, I know what you mean. They are so different. This time we tried the Brazilian nut and the Aged Macadmia. I think I like the basic cashew the best. What about you?
holy cow, those incrediburgers look great! if you’ve ever been to j alexanders, it kind of looks like their veggie burger and it’s my favorite one of ALL TIME. need to make this!
Olivi, I’ve never been but there is one I drive by once in a while. Hope you love the burgers if you give them a go.
There are choices of vegan wine available. You just have to look for the right brand.
