
I am so excited that American Vegan Kitchen is part of the Cookbook Challenge over at the PPK, that I thought I’d give away two books. You don’t have to be participating in the challenge to enter, but trust me, those challenges are a blast…..so give it some thought. I’ve done it in past years, and really had fun. Plus, it leads right in to VeganMoFo this year. Double your fun!
Here’s a teaser photo of a variation on the Peachy Keen Cobbler. The recipe is from American Vegan Kitchen. If you think I made it in the wrong size dish, I didn’t. I just used 2 extra cups of peaches and added some blueberries. It didn’t look like it was going to overflow. And then it was too late! For the topping, I added fresh basil to the biscuits, which gave this rustic dessert a bit of gourmet flare.

I know it’s cliche — especially here in New England — but apple crisp is amazing. Give me that with some vegan whipped topping and I’m good.

Anything with sweet potatoes; pies, muffins, biscuits, cookies, fries, chips. Ok, almost anything; no syrupy canned sweet potatoes with burnt marshmallows for me. Give me the fresh ones; I’ll bake ‘em myself, thank you.
Definitely apples! From apple pie to caramel apples to baked apples. Yum!

Hmmm, I think my favourite fall dessert would have to be cookies, specifically the Sparkled Ginger cookies from VWAV. It’s a very closely run thing though with apple crumble coming in second.
